The Korean Dance Studies Society of Canada

, The Korean Dance Studies Society of Canada

Graceful and gentle, but powerful and spirited--The Korean Dance Studies Society of Canada captures these qualities through the art of creative dancing.  The Korean dancers are clothed in voluminous dresses and full sleeves to depict the veneration of birds and flowers. The turned–up–toed slippers are the embodiment of Korean culture displaying unity, flow and spirit (also known as hon).

The embodiment of Korean dance mirrors the Korean yin and yang approach to life, where the body and mind are treated as one.

Recipients of the Ontario Heritage Award, Toronto-based charitable organization, The Korean Dance Studies Society of Canada, collaborates across generations to honour Korean tradition and culture by uniting Canadians through the dynamic art of dance.
