About the CNE Gaming Garage


Back by popular demand!  For its third year, the Gaming Garage powered by AMD returns to the CNE in a brand new timeslot! The CNE Gaming Garage powered by AMD will move to the opening weekend of the CNE (August 16 to 18) for 2019!

This year it will feature twice as many Pinball and Arcade machines as it did in 2018. From Friday August 16 through Sunday August 18, the CNE Gaming Garage powered by AMD will feature: 

  • Greg Miller & Kinda Funny: 
    • Friday August 16
      12 pm (noon) - How Do You Make a Video Game? (And Not Lose Your House?)
      The video game industry is tumultuous. Developers have to have an idea so good that fans will want to pay for it, publishers will want to back it, and a team will have to commit years of their lives to making it. So, once you have the idea, how do you make it all happen? Join Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller as he interviews Capybara Games Co-Founder and President Nathan Vella about the miracle that making a video game is.

       4 pm - Kinda Funny Party Mode: The Best Gamer in Canada (From America)
      Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller, Tim Gettys, and Andy Cortez are going to use some of the hottest multiplayer games on the PlayStation 4 to prove once and for all who the best gamer in Canada (from America) is.

    • Saturday August 17
      12 pm (noon) - Drinkbox: Toronto's Indie Success Story
      A long time ago, a bunch of friends got the chance to have their game published by PlayStation. Now -- with successes like Guacamelee and Severed -- they're Drinkbox Studios, and they're one of Toronto's best kept secrets when it comes to independent developers. Come to this intimate interview with the team! 

      4 pm - Kinda Funny Gamescast: The Top 10 Games from Canada
      The Kinda Funny crew is in Toronto, and they're going to spend an hour debating the greatest Canadian video games of all time. What's that? You don't know WHAT games are from Canada? Where have you been?!

      12 pm (noon) - Kinda Funny Games Daily: The Biggest News in Video Games
      If you're not on Twitter or IGN every day, it's nearly impossible to keep up with the video game industry. Why not come to this special panel from Kinda Funny Games Daily -- the Internet's No. 1 daily video game show -- to get a crash course in the biggest stories and trends in games today. 

      4 pm:  Watch Dogs: Legion and How Ubisoft Won Video Games
      Ubisoft is one of the biggest video game makers in the world, and its next big release is just around the corner. Join Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller as he sits down with Watch Dogs: Legion Creative Director Clint Hocking to talk about Ubisoft’s ambitious open world game and where Ubisoft Toronto is headed.
