Massimo Capra

Chef Massimo Capra came to Toronto in 1982 from Italy and worked as an acclaimed chef at a number of notable restaurants. In 1997, he joined forces with Paolo Paolini, formerly of Splendido Restaurant to open Mistura Restaurant. It was the start of many more restaurants to come. 

Chef Massimo Capra is currently working in his hometown of Mississauga at Capra’s Kitchen, a casual Italian eatery with heavy emphasis on Pasta, Pizza and Antipasto. Capra’s Kitchen opened in 2016. His latest joint venture is with Mohamad Faki of  Paramount Fine Food fame.  They have launched a new Halal Pizza take out restaurant called Mas-E-mo

 Author of “One Pot Italian” and “Three Chefs the kitchen men” which in 2011 received the gold award from Canadian Culinary Book Award. Chef Capra has received many commendations and praises for his work, his restaurants have always been at the top of the list and was recognized by CIAO ITALIA for his work in bringing Italian flavours to Canada and most recently received the “Pentola d’Oro” award from ICCO Canada.

Chef Massimo is no stranger to television being the host of his own show Gourmet Escapes and is a regular guest expert on the long running City TV Cityline, chef host on the hit series Restaurant Makeover and Chopped Canada on the Food Network and most recently, Massimo can be seen as a judge on Wall of Chefs.

Returning to the Canadian National Exhibition in a virtual format, Chef Massimo will be making two delicious meals for paid CNE Connected Members! Check out his tasty content starting August 20, 2021.
