CNE Green Initiatives

Over the past decade, the CNE has earned the reputation as one of the "greenest" fairs in North America. Last year alone, the CNE diverted 86.35% (1.8 million kg) of waste from landfill, including:

509,000 kg of clean fill, soil & sand
429,345 kg of organic waste
242,000 kg of manure and hay
179,184 kg of wood
156,955 kg of miscellaneous plastics
115,875 kg of cardboard
77,932 kg of glass / cans / plastics / cartons / co-mingled
