Official CNE Blogger Contest

We're looking for ten Official CNE Bloggers for the 2010 fair! Are you one of them?

Send us a sample of your writing based on an experience of your choice. Winners or "Official CNE Bloggers" will visit as often as they'd like during the 2010 CNE and be the eyes and ears of the fair! You'll contribute content to the Official CNE Blog, "tweet" about your CNE visits on Twitter, and shoot pics/videos for Facebook, Flickr, Twitter and YouTube...and all on a Rogers Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 with 8.1 MP camera or Blackberry smartphone!

Each winner receives the following:

• A Sony Ericsson or Blackberry smartphone provided by Rogers for use during the fair
• Two 18-day CNE Admission Passes (grounds admission)
• CNE Meal Tickets
• At the conclusion of the fair:
  • One of the following: a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, a Blackberry or a Netbook (winner's specific prize randomly selected by CNE from available prizes)
  • Pair of VIA Rail passes for the Windsor-Quebec corridor
  • CNE prize package, including Ride All Day Passes for next year's fair

Entry Instructions:

• An original entry submission written by you of 250 words or less
• Entry deadline: Sunday, August 8, 2010
• Your entry should be saved as a Word document with your name in the file name
• Send entries to: cneblog@theex.com

Details:

• Ten winners or "Official CNE Bloggers" will be selected from entries received
• Each Official CNE Blogger will submit at least 6 blog entries, each based on a 2010 CNE visit
• Official CNE Bloggers will "tweet" during their CNE visits and take pics/videos, which will be posted on the CNE's Facebook page, Flickr album or YouTube channel (or other sites as deemed appropriate)
• All content becomes the property of the CNE and is subject to CNE approval prior to posting

Chair With Flair Competition

In its ongoing effort to create more rest areas for visitors to sit and relax during their day at the fair, the CNE has enlisted the help of young people in the community to create CNE Chairs with Flair.
This year the CNE is bringing the epitome of rustic relaxation to the city. In a pilot project, the CNE has enlisted the help of more than 2400 students at 97 schools from across the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) to decorate 150 Muskoka chairs that will be placed across the grounds during the EX. There will be six winners and 14 honourable mentions.

We encourage you to find them throughout the grounds, pull up a seat and relax!!

• Number of seconds it takes to travel 110 feet to the top of the Mega Drop: 52 seconds, and only 3 seconds to fall.
