Each year we employ between 700-900 workers to staff our Grounds Crews and Admissions Crews. These positions run for the duration of the 18 day fair.

Applications are accepted from May 1st of each season and will be accepted up to and including July 31, 2010We encourage applicants to submit their applications before July 1st in order to increase your opportunities. 

Only 1 application per season is accepted. Duplicates will not be processed.

Applicants must be at least 14 years of age. Make sure you check the age requirements for each position before you apply!

If selected to work with us, candidates will be required to provide a valid Social Insurance Card or a valid work permit.

Due to the volume of applications that we receive, we are unable to answer any questions regarding the status of your application. Please DO NOT call the Summer Staffing Office about this issue.

Service Canada Centre

Every year the Service Canada Centre for Youth help CNE employers find qualified, enthusiastic youth who are ready and willing to work.

The Service Canada Centre for Youth CNE Job Fair will be on-site at the CNE in the parking lot outside of Dufferin Gates from early August to the opening of the fair.

2010 Dates: Wednesday, August 4th - Thursday, August 19th

Hours of Operation: 9:00am to 5:00pm

Admission Ticket Taker

Greeting Guests and Taking tickets at assigned Gates 
Hand Stamping for re-entry 
Guard unattended gates


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Age Requirement: Age 16

Admission Ticket Seller

Handling all cash, debit, credit card transactions at assigned Admission gate
Handling Guest inquiries

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Age Requirement: Age 18
  • Cash Experience (working a register, Debit/Credit Card Transactions)
  • Candidates should be energetic, confident, and professional
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends
  • Available to work all 18 days of the fair
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session
  • Must provide Police Record Check

AgVenture Attendant

Actively engage the public to participate in various Agriculture activities
Demonstrate and assist the public (mostly kids) with various activities
Keep program/activity area neat, clean, and safe

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Age Requirement: Age 14
  • Candidates should be energetic, confident, reliable, punctual, and courteous
  • Candidates must be comfortable working around animals & barnyard smells
  • Flexible to work weekends, holidays and evenings
  • Available to work all 18 days of the fair
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session

Auditor

Auditing Parking or Concessions as assigned
Recording and reporting individual sales activities as they occur 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 1st Year University or College 
  • Enrolled in a business and/or accredited Accounting program 
  • Candidates should have excellent communication skills 
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends 
  • Available to work all 18 days of the fair
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session

Audit Supervisor

Supervising and controlling parking and/or concession Auditors
Monitoring, and assisting activities of Auditors

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1st Year University or College 
  • Enrolled in a business and/or accredited Accounting program 
  • Candidates should be pro-active and take initiative 
  • Capable of supervising and motivating staff 
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends 
  • Available to work all 18 days of the fair
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session

Blower Operator

Using the Blower to clean assigned areas

Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum Age Requirement: Age 18 
  • Candidates should be energetic, confident, and professional 
  • Available to work midnight shift 
  • Available to work all 18 days of the fair
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session

Cleaning Attendant - Buildings

Maintain cleanliness of assigned location
Restock paper towels and toilet paper in washrooms as required
Using the bag and broom to pick up paper and other litter in assigned area

Compactor Operator

Operating the Compacting Machine (to compact garbage)

EXpress Train Driver

Drive EX-press shuttle train on scheduled route (Automatic transmission)
Work in conjunction with a conductor on your train

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a Full G license and a clean driving record
  • Steel toed shoes required
  • City of Toronto Fleet Safety to carry out a Driver's Abstract Statement
  • Candidates should be energetic, confident, and professional
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends
  • Available to work all 18 days of the fair
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session

EXpress Train Conductor

Conduct the Ex-press shuttle train (script will be provided)
Work in conjunction with the driver on your train
Provide excellent customer service

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Age Requirement: Age 16
  • Steel toed shoes required

Floor Managers

A Floor Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the pavilion during the move-in, show time, and move-out with the goal of providing excellent customer service and safety. The incumbent will ensure exhibitors are in compliance with building rules and regulations and will liaise with service providers to monitor the movement of people, equipment and supplies during non operating hours.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in a trade and consumer show or event management environment would be desirable.
  • Knowledge of basic safety procedures.
  • Ability to direct staff.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends and/or holidays.

Food Building Attendant

Maintain location cleanliness
Wiping down tables
Mopping spills as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimun Age Requirement: Age 14
  • Candidates should be energetic, confident, and professional
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends
  • Available to work all 18 days of the fair
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session

Found Children / Lost & Found

Supervise children until reunited with their parents
Maintain Lost & Found data base
Monitor baby rest stations
Customer service

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates should be energetic, confident and professional
  • Available to work flexible hours; days, evenings, and weekends
  • Available to work required shifts throughout the fair season August 20 – September 6, 2010
  • Able to attend a mandatory orientation sessions
  • Please be advised we will be conducting a police reference check for all hired
  • Experience with children is required
  • Must be at least 16 years old.

Funline Attendant

Handling guest inquiries
Answering emails and phonecalls
May be required to assistn, where needed, with various other duties

Required Qualifications:

  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends
  • Available to work beginning August 3rd to September 6th, 2010

HorseCapades Attendant

Kids' World Attendant

Actively engage the public to participate in various Kids’ World activities, indoor and outdoor, throughout the Kids’ World Park
Demonstrate and assist the public with various activities
Keep program/activity area neat, clean, and safe

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Age Requirement: Age 14
  • Candidates should be energetic, confident, reliable, punctual, and courteous
  • Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • Available to work all 18 days of the fair: Aug 20th to Sept 6th, 2010
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session

Midnight Grounds Crew

(Midnight to 8:00am)

Must be over 18 years old or have written parental permission
Various Duties include: Paper Picking, Changing Garbage/Recycling, Sweeping, Mopping

Parking Attendant

Directing traffic to appropriate parking spots

Required Quallifications: 

  • Minimum Age Requirement: Age 16
  • Candidates should be energetic, confident, and professional
  • Able to work for extended periods of time outdoors
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends
  • Available to work all 18 days of the fair
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session

Push Cart Attendant - Grounds

Maintain cleanliness of assigned location 
Using the push cart to change recycling and garbage cans in an assigned area
Heavy lifting is required

Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum Age Requirement: Age 14 
  • Candidates should be energetic, confident and professional  
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends 
  • Available to work all 18 days of the fair
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session

Tractor/Sani-Van Driver
